Conwy County Borough runs along the coast from Llandudno and Colwyn Bay to Abergele and Pensarn, and inland up the Conwy valley to the edge of Eryri, just west of us in Denbighshire.
Around 114,800 people lived in the county at the 2021 census. Tourism is a big part of the economy: the council's own figures put its total economic impact at about £1.33 billion in 2024, supporting around 11,700 full-time equivalent jobs, and the council's growth strategy also backs sectors from food and drink to creative and digital businesses. Colwyn Bay, Abergele and Pensarn, and Llandudno are the council's priority town centres for grants and loans.
