The town council describes today's Beaumaris as a place of independent shops, cafes and a busy sailing and boating community. Much of that trade starts with someone already on their phone, whether a sailor checking opening hours from the pontoon or a family weighing up the castle, the gaol and the pier before the car park fills. A fast site that shows opening times, moorings or menus at a glance, with nothing for you to log in to between seasons, suits that far better than anything slow.

Beaumaris Castle, begun in 1295 and never finished, is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the 1614 courthouse, the oldest in Wales, and the Victorian gaol both still welcome visitors. Around 1,100 people live in the town, according to the 2021 census, so its businesses lean on the visitors, sailors and day-trippers those sights draw in.
